GMB has issued a reminder to GMB members about the final stage of the 2 year pay deal agreed for local government workers.
Brian Strutton, GMB National Secretary for Public Services Section says:
“For staff employed on the lowest local government NJC pay point of £13,500 full time equivalent or £7.00 per hour, the 2014-16 national pay agreement included a provision for this pay point to be eliminated from 1 October and anyone on that rate of pay to be moved up.
So as from next month those salaries will increase to £13,614 or £7.06 per hour. All employers including councils and schools who use NJC Green Book conditions must give these increases.
Please bring this to the attention of all GMB members who may be entitled to this extra pay increase, just in case their employer forgets.”
